Well, my 2000 Ford Taurus has 122,000 miles.  I’ve owned it since 2001 when I bought it used with 38,000 miles on it.  One of the reasons I decided to buy this vehicle was because of the safety ratings it had been given.  It was a safe sedan and that is what I was looking for.

I would have preferred to buy a Taurus with less than 36,000 miles so that it still would have been under the factory warranty.  Fortunately I worked at the dealership when I bought the vehicle and it was driven by the parts department manager.

I was comfortable about buying this vehicle even though it was out of warranty because I was able to see the service records and knew the driving habits of the previous owner.

Those are a few things to look for when buying a used car or a used truck.
