The Fresno Bee is without a doubt the largest newspaper in Fresno. Because of that fact the Fresno Bee also employs more people than any other news paper in the area.
If you’re looking to get a job with the Fresno Bee newspaper give these tips a shot.
1. Apply online and in person.
Some companies have different people scan incoming resumes before passing them off to the department manager or the human resources department.
2. Highlight resume qualities that are desirable for the position you’re applying for.
While you may think that your 2 week job at Burger King was a good resume filler, nobody else does. If you’re applying for a position that deals with people, show your interpersonal experience. If you’re applying for the webmaster position, list your recent success in that field.
3. Get connected.
Find someone, anyone that has a job currently with the Fresno Bee that you can use as a reference. They’re much more likely to check your reference if all that the manager has to do is walk down the hall to speak with your reference.
4. Know when jobs are posted.
Like many organizations the Fresno Bee posts jobs on a regular basis, they don’t however post them at 2 a.m. If you want to be the first in line to apply then you had better be on top of the job posting schedule. You can check this out by keeping an eye out on their website.
5. Keep an eye on the Fresno Bee job listings.
All of the Fresno Bee Job openings are listed according to department. You can view the open jobs or just apply directly to that department. If there isn’t a job opening it doesn’t make much sense to apply does it?
